On Saturday, May 18, we had a blast serving the Free Community Meal at Badger Prairie Needs Network (BPNN).
The gloomy weather, and possibly a few graduation parties, kept attendance lower than usual, but we still served almost 150 meals. And the rain and clouds couldn't keep the smiles away.
Prairie Kitchen meals are free meals offered on most 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month in the community room at BPNN. The purpose of the meal is to create a more cohesive and resilient community, and to build support for BPNN's mission to end hunger and poverty on a local level. Meals are served on Saturdays to help fill the gap when shool lunches and senior programs are not available.
EVERYONE is welcome and no reservation is required - just show up.
The Fitchburg-Verona Rotary Club is scheduled to serve the community meal again on August 17 and November 19. For more information about upcoming events and speakers, check out our Events Calendar.
