At graduation, students are recognized for outstanding academic achievement, often signified by the gold National Honor Society (NHS) cords. While academic achievement is important, the Verona Area High School (VAHS) believe that giving back to others, engaging in the community, and having passion for change should be valued as well. As a result, the Silver Cord program was created as a way to recognize outstanding community service and volunteerism. Principal Pam Hammen will share more information about the Silver Cord program and the importance of volunteerism to the VAHS community and the community at large.

Kelly Kloepping, the Public Information Officer for the Verona Area School District, will also share an update on the construction of the new high school.
